Leo is the Senior Head of Bespoke and New Schemes at The Low Carbon Contacts Company (LCCC). He is responsible for LCCC’s expansion into new business areas including Carbon Capture Utilisation & Storage, Hydrogen Production and Nuclear RAB. Leo also oversees the contract management of the existing nuclear Contracts for Difference (CfD). Having been at LCCC for over seven years, Leo holds an excellent understanding of CfDs and how the CfD mechanism can be expanded to new areas of application. This expertise has led to Leo’s team providing advisory services to the Department of Business Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS).

Prior to joining LCCC, Leo held contract and project management roles in the Solar PV and wider construction industry.

James is the National Wealth Fund’s policy lead for hydrogen and carbon capture and storage. James provides policy advice on both individual transactions and sector investment strategies across a range of technologies and priorities including clean power. James joined the NWF’s predecessor, the UK Infrastructure Bank, in November 2021 where he led development of its hydrogen and CCUS sector updates and the launch of its first strategic plan. Prior to this James held roles in the Department of Energy Security and Net Zero and its predecessors where he led delivery of the UK Hydrogen Strategy and hydrogen business model policy design.

Simon has been at electrical product manufacturers’ trade association BEAMA since 2011. He is Head of Policy with responsibility for policy and advocacy on Heat and Energy in Buildings, Electricity Networks, Environment, Transport, and Compliance and Safety policy. Simon works to advise members on policy developments and influence Government and other stakeholders. He has previously worked across the association including managing a number of product groups and cross-sector initiatives for BEAMA’s commercial, technical and marketing work.

James is Head of Policy at RenewableUK. James leads RenewableUK’s work on onshore wind as well as a wider programme of work advocacy and policy including planning, environment and community. James has spent over a decade working in the energy industry, looking at energy, renewables and climate across communications, public affairs and policy for trade associations and membership bodies.

Mark is Scottish Renewables’ Head of Offshore having previously led Onshore Wind and Consenting at SR. His work involves overseeing Scottish Renewables’ policy function for this area, working on behalf of 360+ organisations to grow Scotland’s renewable energy sector and sustain its position at the forefront of the global clean energy industry.

Before joining Scottish Renewables, Mark was driving the sustainability agenda below the surface throughout the luxury industry for several years, with a diverse international background spanning Architecture, Aviation and Fine Art to Interior Design and Superyachts. Mark is a firm believer in the power of nature and a lifelong supporter of the greenest football team in the world, Forest Green Rovers.

Damien is Managing Director of EnBW Generation UK, with responsibility for the British operations of one of Europe’s largest energy companies. This includes the delivery of a 6GW pipeline of offshore wind projects in a joint venture with BP, sufficient to supply electricity to around 6.4 million households.

Damien has spent more than 20 years in the energy industry with an even split on the Developer and Supply Chain sides. He is a qualified management accountant who has worked across the full value chain in the energy sector including stints leading Nordex-Acciona’s UK & Ireland Operations and the UK & Ireland and Asia Pacific sales teams at Vestas.

Andy Reay is the Group Head of Offshore Wind at Associated British Ports (ABP), the UK’s leading ports operator. With over 20 years of experience in the energy industry, He leads the development of offshore wind solutions across ABP’s portfolio of UK ports.

His role involves commercialising key facilities such as the £310 million development at Green Port Hull, a joint investment with Siemens Gamesa, as well as operations and investments in Port Talbot, Grimsby, Barrow, and Lowestoft (LEEF). Before joining ABP, Andy held a senior position at DEME Offshore, where he worked on numerous high-profile projects across Europe, US and Taiwan.

​At ABP, his focus is on driving the growth of offshore wind infrastructure, aligning with the UK Government’s ambitious offshore wind delivery targets. Andy has also served on the Renewable UK Board over the past three years.

Clare is one of the leading voices in hydrogen in the UK. She launched the Hydrogen UK, the UK trade association for hydrogen, which is leading the national debate on the role of hydrogen in meeting net zero and working with industry leaders, Ministers and civil servants on the next steps required to scale hydrogen in the UK. Clare has an extensive network across the hydrogen space, working with many organisations and companies to advise on how to capitalise on the opportunities presented by hydrogen.

Mark is a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers, with over thirty years in the construction industry including Chair of one of the solar sectors longest established UK solar businesses at EvoEnergy Ltd.  He has been a full member of the Solar Taskforce, chairing the Skills Group and contributing to the Supply Chain Group.  Mark also chairs the Skills Steering Group for SEUK members.

Recently Mark has been appointed as Chair of the National Federation of Builders, the leading professional organisation for house builders and construction contractors.  His role is to secure the future of this membership body and to ensure the sustainability and successful survival of our members.  Mark is also Vice-Chair of Constructing Excellence Midlands and a Governor at Moulton College in the Midlands.

Mark is passionate about renewables and reducing corporate carbon emissions and as Chairman of EvoEnergy has the support and expertise to help others. Mark believes success comes from knowledgeable teams and encourages people to share their ideas and work across boundaries to find the best solutions for our clients.

Chris Hewett became Solar Energy UK’s Chief Executive in 2018, bringing 25 years of experience dealing with environmental and energy issues. Previously, he was Head of Climate Change for the Environment Agency, an Associate at Green Alliance, and a Senior Research Fellow at the Institute for Public Policy Research.  

Now in charge of Solar Energy UK, Chris oversees a community of more than 400+ member companies working in solar and energy storage in the UK and is Co-Chair of the UK Government-Industry Solar Taskforce. His leadership continues to be instrumental in shaping the organisation’s trajectory as a leading force in pursuing a cleaner future and more sustainable energy landscape.

Based in Orkney, EMEC is a not-for-profit innovation catalyst pioneering the transition to a clean energy future. EMEC is the world’s leading centre for testing wave and tidal energy converters in the sea and over the last 20 years has hosted more technologies than anywhere else in the world. EMEC also operates an R&D ecosystem integrating renewables with hydrogen and batteries – reducing the time, cost and risk of integrating new technologies into the future energy system.

After studying law Eileen worked in local government policy, until her enthusiasm for sustainable community development led her to join EMEC in August 2009. In her time at EMEC, she has worked with a huge range of technology companies large and small worldwide. As Corporate Affairs Director, the market intelligence gained from this breadth of experience directly feeds her role. This includes stakeholder engagement and industry lobbying activities, as the Centre has become a global focal point for low carbon innovation, involved in R&D projects with a total value of £538m.
