The Parker Review put a call to action to improve the ethnic and cultural diversity of UK Boards,
whilst McGregor Smith urged businesses to unlock the talent pipeline
and foster more inclusive workplaces.
Significant progress is already being made with many companies committing to the Race at Work Charter
and The Government consulting to introduce ethnicity pay reporting,
with the Resolution Foundation estimating that BAME workers currently face a £3.2bn annual pay penalty.
This forum explores how significant culture change needs to come in the very early stages to ensure BAME can progress from entry-level to senior management positions. With a focus on improving careers advice
and recruitment practices
to investment in mentoring, training and development
to support progression and promotions.
